ADAMA offers a wide range of crop protection solutions – herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, plant growth regulators and seed treatments – that improve the quality and quantity of crop yields by providing protection from weeds, insects and disease.
The Company uses its expertise to develop and adapt similar products for use in non-crop areas (Consumer and Professional Solutions) to protect against weeds, disease and pests in roadworks, forests, lawns, parks, institutions, the wood and paint industry, facilities and private residential gardens.
In addition to crop protection, ADAMA is also active in Ingredients and Intermediates. These operations include 1) dietary supplements, food color, texture and flavor enhancement ingredients, and food fortification ingredients; (2) fragrance products; and (3) industrial products.
ADAMA has a more than 70-year heritage, having started from two Israeli crop protection companies, Agan Chemical Manufacturers Ltd. and Makhteshim Chemical Works, that were established in 1945 and 1952, respectively. After decades of intensifying mutual cooperation, Makhteshim and Agan merged in 1997 to form Makhteshim Agan Ltd.
In 2011, Makhteshim Agan became part of the ChemChina Group and in 2014, the Company changed its name to Adama Agricultural Solutions Ltd., introducing its new, unified global brand “Adama”.
In 2017, Adama Agricultural Solutions combined with Hubei Sanonda Co. Ltd., which was subsequently renamed ADAMA Ltd. in 2018.
Following the combination between Adama Solutions and Sanonda, the combined company was renamed ADAMA.
ADAMA’s global management team was formed from the former Adama Solutions management team, which was joined by colleagues from China engaged with the combined China operation.
The central functions of ADAMA continue to be run from Israel, including global R&D, registration and operations.
ADAMA’s global corporate headquarters is in Airport City, Israel (outside Tel Aviv) ADAMA’s China headquarters is in Beijing, China.
